We love Fitzy here at iBlackedOut.com so we figured we’d mention that his show Pocket Money is back tonight at 5pm for a brand new season on NESN. NESN are you reading this? We really need a TV show anything you can do to help us out? We’ll mix drinking with sports everyone’s two favorite things. I should start preparing my Emmy speech.
This is Nelly’s new single Just A Dream. I remember when Nelly was the shiggidy shig shit back in high school. From my sophomore year to my senior year Nelly and the St. Lunatics were the cocks of the walk. Then Nelly kind of made some real shit music for the remainder of my years. This new song is kind of catchy though, so break out your fucking band aids and get ready to put them on your cheek again.
I don’t know if anyone recalls the classic 80′s vampire movie, Fright Night, but it was a really good horror/comedy back in the time that vampires were cool. Now one of the main characters was Peter Vincent, who was the host of a creature feature television show, and who used to star in vampire flicks. When the other main character, Charlie, finds out there’s a vampire living next door to him, he enlists Peter Vincent to help him out.
You must be saying, Matty what’s the big deal that the new Peter Vincent in the Fright Night remake looks like Criss Angel? And I say because the original Peter Vincent looked like this:
So we have neglected to talk about this the last few days but this post was inevitable. What is going on with the Red Sox Organization? The 2010 Red Sox season was over around the All-Star break, yes they had a shot to creep back into it but let’s be real it was never going to happen with all the injuries and their inability to consistently hit the ball and have anyone other than Daniel Bard be reliable in the bullpen. To be honest I have no idea what direction this team is going in, all indications point to a youth movement from within the organization. Home grown players are key and the Sox already have a lot of them making a big impact now (Pedroia, Youk, Lester, Buchholz, Papelbon) and it looks like they have some inline to join the team in the next few years that will also make a big impact. However I ask why must we have these “bridge years” to get to these youngsters? This is not a small market team; the Red Sox have the highest ticket prices and one of the top 5 payrolls year in and year out. There is no reason this team should not be in contention every year for a playoff spot. As fans we should not be expected to pay exorbitant prices to go to a game and then while at the game have to finance the meal of food and 7 beers for 60 months at 4% only to have to watch a team that can’t even beat the one of the worst teams in baseball when it is absolutely crucial to their season. The Red Sox organization has a lot to do this off season if they want to keep from fans growing more and more displeased. There are some glaring holes on this team that needed to be addressed and without some real effort this off season the Red Sox are going to find their once devoted fans who loved them unconditionally and were blind to the fact there were other sports teams in this town will start heading to Causeway Street for the Bruins and Celtics rather than Yawkey Way.
