This is the first bit of concept art from the upcoming Captain America movie. I was never a big Captain America fan, but ever since Marvel has been making their own movies, I have to say I’ve enjoyed all of them, and I’m kind of excited to see what exactly they do with Captain America to prepare for the big Avengers movie that hits in 2012. The First Avenger: Captain America opens in July of 2011.
Side note, I dig the new look, he looks…Less nerdier. I mean the wings on the mask kind of made him look like a friggin’ fairy.
Well who else would they choose, Lucifer? Fuck that. Red Skull it is and what a villain to choose. Joe Johnston who was hired to direct ‘The First Avenger: Captain America,’ confirmed that the film will be an origin story and will feature Red Skull as the villain.
Now I don’t want anyone to think that Red Skull being the villain is going to be like Superman’s arch enemy Lex Luthor. You know, where the only super power Luthor has is the power of dishing out money for some kryptonite. Fucking lame. Red Skull is a great choice and a fucking scary character taboot.
Here’s a little side note for you just so we are all on the page with how this movie is going to be. Joe Johnston hasn’t done that much directing. Some movies to bring up so everyone knows who he is are ‘Jumanji,’ ‘Honey, I Shrunk The Kids,’ ‘Jurassic Park 3′ and the most recent ‘The Wolfman.’ He also worked on Indiana Jones and Star Wars too.
So he’s got quite the resume before picking up this Captain America project. I have no doubt that it will be great but I don’t know if it will be as great as the 1990 version of Captain America which you can see the trailer below. Fucking classic. Enjoy!
